Teaching tips: With an even number of couples to start, there are no end effects for the double prngression. The dance leaves the neutral couples exactly as they need to be for the next move. Neutral couples starting out at the bottom should begin improper. In B1, be clear that there are three beats for each giving of hands.

Carl Andersen asked me to rvrite this dance for jackie Algon to celebrate her 60th birthday. The title suggests the interplay betzveen energy and repose, a seeming contradiction that jackie's personality balances and reconciles. By Orly Krasner, 2003; rev. 2008
