Al 1-2 Starting with the right foot, middle woman cast up and 1w moves down while the middle man, also starting on the right foot, casts down and 3M moves up; 3-4 The active woman and the opposite man (1M) set to each other while the active man and the opposite woman (3W) set to each other. 5-8 Each active and the opposite two-hand turn once around, releasing hands in time to spiral into place on bar 8. A2 1-2 (The dancers now in middle place are the actives.) Starting with the right foot, the woman in middle place casts down and the bottom woman moves up while the middle man, also starting on the right foot, casts up and the top man moves down. 3-4 As above, the actives and their opposites set; 5-8 As above, the actives and their opposites two-hand turn, spiraling into ... B1 1-2 Hands six in a wide circle to the left in 2 waltz steps; 3-4 Continue to circle left, but with 2 single steps, 1 to each bar; 5-6 Continue to circle left, with 2 waltz steps; 7-8 Release hands and with 2 waltz steps, dance into formation, men curving to the right to face down, women curving to the right to face up on their own side. B2 1-2 Men move down while women move up, taking 2 single steps, 1 to a bar; 3-4 All cast right back to place with 2 waltz steps; 5-8 New partners gypsy by the right shoulder. Repeat twice more to place.

Teaching Tip: The middles must really “bulge” to make the circle six hands round as beautiful as it should be.
Fried calls this formation a “Triad Mixer,” as dancers have new partners in each round of the dance. The dancers in middle place are the actives
