Tune: A Perfect Ten

A1 1-4  On the right diagonal, right-hand turn once around. 
   5-8  Partners left-hand turn once and a half to change places. 
   9-10 All turn single right. All home but improper. 
A2 1-10 Repeat the figures of A1 from these positions to get home. 
B1 1-4  Partners right shoulder back-to-back. 
   5-8  Partners step and honor right and left. 
   9-10 Partners change places, passing right shoulder. All home but improper. 
B2 1-8  1s start a series of cascading stars as follows: 
            star right halfway with the 2s, 
            star left halfway with the 3s, 
            star right halfway with the 4s, 
            star left halfway with the 5s. 
   9-10 1s (at the bottom) gypsy left shoulder halfway to get proper. (1st woman 
        must be ready for the diagonal right-hand turn that starts the next round.)
             Progression: 2-3-4-5-1

Don Bell asked me to write a dance in honor of his wife Diane for their tenth wedding anniversary, and he asked Jonathan Jensen to compose a tune. Jonathan came up with ten-bar phrases (and this title), so a five-couple formation seemed the only logical thing to do. Diane received her surprise present when Philippe Callens called A Perfect Ten during Pinewoods English Week 2002.
