Tune called John Drury, first air by Turlough O Carolan (1670 - 1738)
Eindhoven is a city and municipality of the Netherlands
Carolan wrote this tune in 1724 to celebrate the marriage of John Drury to Elizabeth Goldsmith. In his concluding verse, the poet praised those who marry for love, not money. The Drurys were an influential family—Elizabeth’s family was not rich.
