Base line in Birthday Song for King James II, :
A  1-4 1st couple and 2nd Woman circle left once round.
   5—8 Ist couple and 2nd Man circle left once round.
Bl 1-4 All fall back a double and move forward turning single.
   5—8 All back to hack right shoulder with neighbour.
B2 1-2 Ist couple face and clap hands (together-right-together-left).
   3-4 Ist couple cast down into 2nd place, 2nd couple moving up.
   5-6 1st and 2nd Men face and clap as in B2 1-2.
   7-8 Ist and 2nd Women face and clap their own hands together twice and
       then both hands with each other once.

* Douglas and Helen Kennedy re-named this dance ‘The Way to Norwich’ to avoid confusion with the dance ‘Cuckolds all a row’ (The English Dancing Master 1651) which Cecil Sharp had re-named when he published it under the title ‘Hey, Boys, up go we’ (The Country Dance Book Part II 1911).
