Clarance House

Form: Square for 4 couples (numbered counter-clockwise) Pat Shaw (1953)

Jig:

A1 1-8 Head couples F & B twice,

	with Side couples (starting on bar 3) F & B & F
	(finishing in centre facing corner
	(i.e. in 2 straight lines)  (skip-change step)

A2 1-8 Two straight heys for 4 once,

	finishing in same straight lines across the set 
	(skip-change step).

B 1-4 Rh turn three-quarters round with corner into lines

	(across head positions);
	Balance R & L in line, making arches;
5-8	Men Lh turn into line down the set & immediately 
	2ndM & 4thM half RH turn,
	Men balance R & L in line, making arches, facing ptnr;
9-12	Women go through nearest outside arch 
	(in opposite directions) & L around partner to place
	(skip-change step);
13-16	All Lh turn partner to place (skip-change).

Reel:

A1 1-8 1stC & 3rdC balance R & L to ptnr and then to opposite;

	Head couples F & B (skip-change).

A2 1-8 1stC & 3rdC forward agin into back-to-back with opposite

	& lead out with opposite through nearest side couple,
	separate & return to place (skip-change).

B 1-4 1StM & 3rdM Rh turn once round, and

	Lh turn ptnr once round;
5-8	1stM with 4thC, 3rdM with 2ndC - Rh stars for 3 on sides
	WHILE 1stW & 3rdW turn once in centre (sk.ch);
9-16	1stM & 3rdM fall in behind their partners for
	Lh star once round to places & then
	continue turning partners with Lh
	WHILE 2ndC & 4thC Rh turn with partners 
	(to end of phrase of music) (sk.ch).

Jig & Reel: Repeat with 2ndc & 4thC leading.

Jig:

A1 & A2 1-16 Lh turn once round with corner,

	Rh turn 1.5 times with partner,
	Lh turn once round with Rh W,
	Half Rh turn with partner into grand chain
	all the way to places (skip-change step).

B1 1-8 All 4 W Lch to opposite M (open Lh turn);

	& chain back to partner (open Lh turn) (sk.ch);
9-16	Promenade with partner once round (sk.ch).
