New Boe-Peep

The New Boe-Peep, or Pickadilly, is an english country dance published in The English Dancing Master, London, 1651

Couplet 1: Lines

1-4: Lead up all a Double forward and back

Chorus 1: Women

1-2: Women turn away and go all a Double towards the wall
3-4: Men follow them a double
5-8: Men peep four times over the Women’s shoulders, alternating right and left
9-10: All fall back to own places 
11-12: Turn single until proper

Couplet 2: Sides

1-4: Side rirht with your partner

Chorus 2: Men

1-2: Men turn away and go all a Double towards the wall
3-4: Women follow them a double
5-8: Women peep four times over the Men’s shoulders, alternating right and left
9-10: All fall back to own places 
11-12: Turn single until proper

Couplet 3: Arms

1-4: Arm Right with your partner

Chorus 1: Women

Repeat all 3 one more time, changing the choruses in turn: Men, Women, Men

Variation: on Chorus Men or Women do not follow own partnes, but chose any other partner they want

In the original description every couplet repeats twice, right and left side; and every chorus repeats twice, for women and for men, but this version of music does not allow it.
