   1st couple swings down middle into 2nd place (sk.s.)  
         while 2nd couple casts up; 
   2nd couple swings down while 1st couple casts up.
   In lines up and down the hall, 
      all go 4 slips to L and 4 slips to R; partners arm R;
   All fall back a double, forward to places; turn single, 
   1st couple slips down while 2nd couple slips up outside.
   Circular hey 4 changes, partners facing; partners arm R.

The Round

Al 1-4 Ist couple turn two-hands down the center to second place skipping
       while 2nd couple cast up to top {not skipping}.
   5-8 Repeat movement, 2nd couple turn, 1st couple cast up,
A2 1-4 Men's line and women's line move four slips to left and four slips 
       back {without hands).
   5-8 Partners arm right.
Bl 1-6 All fall back a double, forward a double, then turn single.
   7-8 1st couple take both hands and move four slips down center to second place
       while 2nd couple slip up outside to first place. 
B2 1-4 All circular hey, four changes, beginning with partner, skipping.
   5-8 Partners arm right,

THE ROUND and MR. LANES MAGGOT

Tune name is “Mr. Lane's Maggot,” George Lane was a dancer and dancing master who performed at Court and on the stage in the last quarter of the seventeen century. Other dances in the DM associated with him are Lanes Minuet' (DM 1: 1695-1728) and “Lane's Trumpet Minuet (DM 1: 1698-1728).
